On his third album, composer and multi-instrumentalist Dan Cook takes the gracefully constructed, piano-based music of A Spot on the Hill into deeply contemplative territory, exploring the meditative qualities of drone and the space between the notes.

Falling between ambient, postrock and classical minimalism, reviewers have described Cook’s music as “delicately layered soundscapes that reward full immersion with subtle movement” (Bryan Reed, Free Times) and "spare yet grandiose" (Kyle Peterson, The Jasper Project). Listeners have described the music as “hauntingly beautiful," “like Bach on quaaludes" and "ECM meets the quieter moments of Dirty Three."
